Club turbos take a break

Posted by manxroadclub on December 18, 2015 at 6:50 AM

That's 6 weeks of Club turbos completed. By now alot of you will be starting to feel a bit fitter and more motivated. Over the Christmas period try to get a good endurance block in on the bike if time permits. Joining the club runs can be a good way to get the miles in the legs needed but dont be to keen and over do it you dont want to become ill and run down come the new year. Keep the turbo work going the sessions we've been doing are great all round fitness boosters. If your stuck with what to do why not download a 3LC dvd from the Itunes store or buy one from amazon and train with some of the local pros in your garage!

The club sessions will re-commence in the new year. Keep posted for a confirmed date. Everyone welcome just £3.00

TRAINING AND ILLNESS

Posted by manxroadclub on December 17, 2015 at 1:20 PM

No doubt many of you have noticed rather a few club members at the moment suffering from the usual winter bugs, which has been affecting their attendance on the club runs or resulting in them having to cut their run short. The secret is knowing when it is a good idea to carry on riding or whether you should rest up.

If you want to limit the adverse impact of illness on your cycling or are struggling to work out whether to risk a ride when you are not feeling 100% then you might find some useful information on the British Cycling website using the link here

TOP TIP - When you are at the cafe, consider whether the door handle on the way out is safe to touch...although you may have washed your hands, did all those before you do that, if not then consider using a paper towel, glove, cap or jacket sleeve to touch the handle and thus reduce your exposure to any bugs.
