World Road Race Champion Mark Cavendish has finished 8th on Stage 3 of this years Tour of Oman after Marcel Kittel took victory into Muscat Heights. A four man breakaway was reeled in by the fast moving peleton with 60km to go. Sky rider Sutton said after the stage "It was pritty scrappy in the last 20km we were just trying to keep Cav out of trouble. Sometimes it just doesn't go to plan" British rider Adam Blythe finished 13th. Greipel now leads overall but only had a 2 second slender lead from Peter Sagan. Fridays stage is 142.5km which could see Cav grab his first victory of the Tour and the third of 2012. More from cyclingnews.com here
Meanwhile An Post Sean Kelly rider Mark Christian finished 118th on stage two of the Volta Ao Algrave. The 5 day stage race has some big names riding including Sky riders Wiggins,Froome,Hagen,Porte.
