Posted by manxroadclub on January 31, 2016 at 2:40 AM

Team Sky's Peter Kennaugh put in a strong solo effort to win the Great Ocean Road Race in Australia.

The Manxman sprung clear and quickly built up a 20-second lead before keeping a reduced peloton at bay to earn one of the finest wins of his career. Team mate and fellow Manx resident Ben Swift put in an impressive shift to finish in eighth. Mark Cavendish riding in his new Team Dimension kit was a non finisher

There were other Manx conections at the race, JTL Condor Performance Manager Tim Kennaugh was there with his team and club member Tom Black has also been working 'Down Under'
