Hinds Wins a Race!
Manx Road Club rider Gary Hinds pictured taking a convincing win in the Peel Kermesse, not sure of the year, (I'm sure Bergers will enlighten us) Bergers changed clubs shortly afterwards and the wins quickly dried up!!.....(except for a handicap win on the Southern 100 circuit he seems to keep going on about when having a beer)

Burgers, sorry - wrong.!! Definitely 1982 - I've got the photos and the dates to go with them. In 1980 it was Pete Matthews who won the 3rds Kermesse, and Richard Travis the senior one.!! 1981 was the year you beat Peter into 3rd. not sure who it was you beat for the win, but it was a really close finish - I'm looking at the photo as I write this just to make sure my info is correct.!! Anyway, back to the Curwens...you made a slight error in judgement in 1984 when Phil Wilkins beat you to the line and ian Sanders was third, but you made up for it in 1985 with a spectacular win. I can send you the photo if you like - Regards...

Photo taken on 21st June 1982. Burgers also won the same event the previous year on 22nd June 1981. As for his wins drying up - not so. He beat Liverpool Mercury's Pete Matthews for the 1983 Castletown Kermesse, Peel Kermesse in 1984 and the 1985 Curwens National H'Cap RR outsprinting exiled Manxman Dennis Lightfoot in the process

The year was 1980 however it was one of 5 wins at Peel, you'll see in 3rd Peter Kennaugh, unlucky!! that was the closest you got! Any way, back to the Curwen's win..........
