There have been numerous champions from the Manx Road Club over the years, Steve Joughin who dominated the domestic professional scene in the 80's by winning many national titles and representing Great Britain on many occaisions. Mike Doyle won just about everything as a junior in the UK and in France, he also went on to become a sucessful professional. Before them Nigel Dean competed sucessfuly as a professional both on the road and the indoor track scene then of course Peter Buckley who won the Isle of Man's first Commonwealth Gold medal in the road race in Jamaica.
